Living life in colour

Hi!

I'm Nisha.

Welcome to my blog!

A little about me..

I was born and raised in the UK and moved to Canada in 2008. I am happily married with two beautiful children aged 3 and 9! I love food and travelling.

If I were to describe myself, I would say I'm a multi-faceted Creator, Designer, mompreneur and now a certified manifestor- Living my truth, and creating magic!

Ten years ago, this vision was just a pipe dream, something I never considered would eventually turn into the launching of my first kid's collection with my own prints!

I honestly wake up still finding it hard to believe I am on this creatively fulfilling journey of designing and making unique children's clothing. Don't get me wrong, imposter syndrome has reared its head many, many times along the way, but I've learned, for the most part, how to get through those moments (more about this in future posts).

This is an inclusive space where I inspire, share my creative projects and journey from being a scientist (for over 15 years!) to a Fashion Designer. It has taken a lot of faith and self-discovery to get to where I am today. I'm glad to say I am back to living my life in colour, designing, creating, and living in present moments of flow and joy.

As a little girl, I had a very vivid imagination and always had A LOT of ideas, which usually never saw the light of day. I was always nervous to show off my work- I held many limiting beliefs around my ability and what was possible. Creating was a very personal process that kept me excited, inspired, and joyful as a child.

I was very resourceful as a child and constantly redesigned my space to make it look and feel more aesthetically pleasing and inspiring. I could also whip up a creative gift basket or a fancy table setting in no time!.

Nothing satisfies me more than a good mix of pattern, print and bold colours that are not necessarily seen together. I find the process fascinating, and when I get it right, it feels soooo good. This has definitely transferred over to my style as a fashion designer!. Now I am in a space where I get to do what I love every day and share my excitement, process and creations.

I was gifted a Cricut a couple of years ago and I was ecstatic. If any of you know me well, I loved to scrapbook and make greeting cards as a kid, so this gift opened up many possibilities to try different techniques. Im excited to incorporate these techniques within my business and share any tips and tricks along the way.

The debut collection is an elevated, modern take on timeless silhouettes from East and West. The style and custom prints are influenced by my British South Asian roots. Being of Gujarati descent, I never found any clothing that truly represented me as a child. As a mother, I wanted to create a fusion design that not only my daughter but all girls would feel empowered, confident and inspired. The design is chic, fun and thoughtful, with modern constructs tailored for comfort; it allows room for growth and play.

Stay tuned for design inspiration, sneak peeks of my collection and my next blog post :). Thank you to all those who have supported me and believed in me on this journey. I can't wait to see the brand grow together.
